Physical Education
At Mount Eliza North Primary School all students participate in a 40 minute Physical Education lesson per week. This is further supported with a 30 minute games/sports session for Foundation to Year 2 students and a 45 minute sporting session for students in Years 3 to 6.
All Foundation students attend one 30 minute Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) sessions per week. Parent helpers are encouraged to assist with the running of this program.
Students in Foundation to Year 6 attend swimming sessions during terms 3 and 4. The major focus of this program is water safety.
The students in Years 3 to 6 are placed into one of the four house groups: Grevillea (red), Acacia (yellow), Melaleuca (blue) and Boronia (green). Students compete in these house groups when they participate in our annual swimming, cross country and athletics events.
Year 6 students also have the opportunity to represent the school through their participation in interschool sport during Term 2. The students compete against neighbouring schools in sports such as netball, football, soccer and t-ball, and also attend an all-day Lightning Premiership at the end of the term.
Students who are successful in school based sporting events are given the opportunity to represent school in swimming, basketball, tennis, soccer, football, netball, cross country and athletics at the District, Division, Region and State levels.
